Tranquility Oasis
Vladas Kancauskas, the sculptor from Lithuania capital Vilnius, having discovered the park of Lithuania Academy Library 20 years ago, erected a granite Sand Clock. This clock had to remind residents of Vilnius that time and tranquility were the continuation of eternity.
The sculptor decided to create an oasis of tranquility containing more sculpture pieces. Thus, last year a sculpture gallery Silence Court appeared in Vilnius. "Sculpture park Silence Court is located in the downtown - heart of city Vilnius. In the Park, the academic youth may stay in silence and concentrate", thinks Vladas Kancauskas.
The sculptor believes that residents and quest need his Silence Court. The dream of Vladas Kancauskas is that sometime in future literature and art soirees will be held.

Vladas Kancauskas gave the city one work of Art. The park of Academy Library has been decorated by a sculpture piece Great Witness of XX Century, made especially rare marble and stainless steel.
"Presidents sign all treaties with a pen and their assistants immediately dry up their signatures with a paperweight - great witness as it has seen a lot of treaties", in such way the sculptor explained his idea to erect a monument for the paperweight.
This most recent work of art of the artist replenished the sculptor's personal gallery Silence Court under in open air in T.Vrublevskio street in Vilnius.

Inspired by a Historical Personality
The sculpture pieces in the Silence Court are erected on initiative and at expense of the sculptor. 'If a person is strong, he may do a lot', believes the artist. The sculptor plans put 7 sculptures. Barbora Radvilaite, the wife of King Zygimantas Augustas, inspired presenting sculpture work to the town. "She gave her books to the Science Academy Library. I decided to give my sculptures to the eternal institution - Science Academy", said the sculptor.
